Description
Showing its age, the antique typewriter still stands firm, heavy, and strong. The black paint has chipped off in places, replaced by brown rust. Parallel rows of pale yellow disks rise to meet the type bars, which curve into a toothy smile. At the very top, a decal on the paper support shows the name and model -- Remington 11. The Remington 11 model was made without sides or back; all of its metal parts are open for viewing. The spool of green ribbon, the margin release, the paper roller, and all of the knobs, gears, and levers form geometric shapes as they work together.
My great-grandfather's typewriter -- a Remington 11.
