Description
Looking across the calm water of a river reveals an upside-down reflection of the eastern sky, overcast with silver clouds. It is early morning. The sun struggles to push the clouds away, succeeding only in creating a bright smudge just above the horizon. The tree line, closer, farther, taller, shorter, forms a jagged horizon, silhouetted against the lightening expanse, creating an uneven edge between reality and mirror.
Color is minimal in this mage. The black slash across the middle contrasts with the long line of dark gray immediately above it. There is a hint of rosy peach behind that lengthy cloud. The sun is rising. More proof exists in the knowledge that the silvery expanse is burnished with golden light.
The sheer calmness of the water gives off a perfect virtual image with an inverted view. Upside-down would look the same, save for the rock in the river, which provides and anchor to reality.
