In this close-up image of an old Remington Model 11 typewriter, the focus is on the left side of the machine, with the TAB key and the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, (This model used the uppercase "I" for the number 1.) Also showing are the letters WERTY. Note that the key bar for the letter "Q" is missing its spring, so that letter isn't aligned with the others.
Several of this model's innovative features are shown in this photo. One is the ribbon color indicator. It's located on the left side of the machine, and indicates three available colors: purple, red, and white. Also, above the number keys, is a row of square black keys. These are the keys of the Decimal Tabulator, with their place name indicated just above them on the face to the typewriter, including a decimal point, ones, tens, hundreds, etc. This device was useful for writing columns of numbers, for it lined them up precisely.

I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro.
