Artist's Description
Like a scene from a movie, weak sunlight burns through early morning fog, promising heat, even in the coolness of the day. In the distance, across the marsh, trees are shrouded with haze, leaving them an indistinct shade of green. With their branches arching over the scene, trees in the foreground are silhouetted against the pale blue sky, offering respite from the sun's burning rays. The tall marsh grass -- yellows and browns mixed with green -- foretells the coming autumn.

I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro.
