The darkness of evening has crept over the campground. People and pets have bedded down; the lake is smooth and still; movement is at a minimum. Soft yellow lights glow from under awnings, reflecting across the mirror-like water of the lake. The glow from a single security light illuminates an oak tree. One can almost hear the chirping of crickets and frogs. All is well.
A beautiful setting in beautiful East Asheville KOA campground in Swannanoa, NC: I was practicing my night photography and ended up with a great shot!
I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro.
