Description
Small ridges and valleys of beach, blown by the wind and moved by the tides, mark a pattern on the beach. At sunrise, the tiny ridges catch the sun, looking like parallel lines of fire. The valleys between remain in the depths of shadow. Darkest brown contrasts with fiery orange.
The pattern shows vertical stripes, not quite parallel, some reaching and joining, others continuing straight. Yet others curve together, as if in a slow dance. The image is fleeting, cannot be captured again. The sand is constantly moving, shifted by creatures, washed by water, blown by breezes.
