Description
The ball of fire that is the sun gets trapped in a cloud bank as it struggles to begin the day. Heavy clouds hovering on the edge of the earth blot out the sun's bottom portion, leaving it to hang in the air, unsupported by the horizon below it. Another band of filmier clouds dims its golden light, turning it a peachy color. As the clouds change from heavy to light, from thick to filmy, from gray to red and orange, the full color of the flaming ball paints the sky.
In the foreground, the beach sand sleeps, waiting in darkness for the sun's light to awaken it. It is covered by a moving blanket of water, calm on the surface, but inhaling deeply to spew waves onto the shore.
As the sun rises, the ocean stretches, a wave crashes; and the day comes to life.
