Artist's Description

Against a clear blue sky the church stands firmly in its place, spanning the gap between Earth and Heaven, between Man and God. Framed all around with the greenery of an immaculate landscape, the building stands out in its pure white form. The conical shape of the steeple points the way upward.

First Presbyterian Church in downtown Augusta, GA, is historic not only for its beautiful building, which dates from 1804, but also for its use as a hospital and prison during the Civil War. In addition, President Woodrow Wilson attend the church as a child.
