Artist's Description
The eye is everything. The lizard looks directly at the viewer, as it balances on a vine. Overwhelmingly, the scene is green, with just a few white highlights on the background leaves. The Green Anole curves its body around the brown stem that rises diagonally from the ground.
Brookgreen Gardens, where I spotted this lizard, is a scenic stop just south of Myrtle Beach, SC. Wildlife abounds in its natural setting, along with the beautiful sculptures that are located throughout the garden areas.
