Three young ducks walk beside the clear water of a mountain river in a single file line. They are walking across the image from right to left, and angling away from the water and toward the camera, getting closer with each waddling step.
Although they are all ducks -- note their webbed feet and wide bills -- they are not alike in color or size. The leader of this little parade is fluffy, and the palest of yellows. Behind it come two others, both marked with darker colors. The middle one is mottled with gray and brown, and has a dark gray streak down its head. Bringing up the rear is a black and white duck, mostly brown, but with white on its face and chest.
The river they walk beside has clear water, which shows the silty sand of the river bed. The rippling water reflects the sky as it flows along. Green grass and yellow leaves complete the color palette.
I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro.
