Artist's Description

With a palette that relies heavily on brown, the texture of sand interwoven with a tangle of tiny roots contrasts with the calm stillness of the water's edge. The stagnant surface of the pond contrasts with the curling, twisting, living roots, reaching their toes into the life-giving water. Under the surface, stones and faded leaves mimic the acorns and pebbles scattered among the rooted tapestry. A portrait in brown. A portrait in nature. A portrait in life.

Asheville, NC and the surrounding area has an abundance of nature, with lakes, pond, rivers, and streams. A wonderful area for culture, concerts, and wildlife.

Although I'm digital, I don't use...
