A quiet, unpaved road -- "The Road Less Traveled" -- lined with a rock wall and green shade trees, narrows into the distance. Gravel on the road's surface has been driven into ruts on this one-lane road. The dampness on its surface, and the greenness of the grass along the edge hints of recent rain. The overcast sky concurs.
On the left side of the course, the stone wall is made of fist-sized yellow-tan rocks. Behind it, and taller than the rocks, is a rough-hewn wooden fence, painted as dark as the shadowy tree trunks. Its horizontal slats parallel the length of the rocky embankment. Both follow the roadway into the distance and over the hill.
I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro.
