This is an awesome reflection shot Kay! v/p/f and Super Featured in the Self Taught Artists group!

Thanks, Kami. Serendipitous, I'm sure. The bird took off flying right at me while I had the camera up. I couldn't have set it up any better.

A Great Egret takes flight, reflected in perfect symmetry against the water it flies over. The shoreline of a pond, and its reflection, form a split screen, with the water's edge being the center of the photograph. The entire background, both real and reflected, is made up of tangled green and brown grasses and shrubs. The only different thing is the large bird, wings spread, flying directly toward the viewer. Upside down would look the same.

I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro. Although I'm digital, I don't use...
