Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

The image is square, with a butterfly -- a Gulf Fritillary, to be exact -- in the center. It's resting on the purple blossom of a butterfly bush which is jutting diagonally from the bottom right corner.

Parallel stripes of orange, edged with black trim, define the colorful insect. It shows brightly against its host. Tiny flowers of pink-purple, almost fuchsia, cluster along the spike of the bush, making tall cones of color, full of nectar for the Fritillary.

It's late in the summer; the blooms are past their prime. Some of the flowers have dried up. But those that are still alive and holding their color have attracted the butterfly. So there it sits, amid the brilliant pink and green of the bush.

This photograph was taken at Brick Pond Park, a beautiful urban nature site in North Augusta, SC.

About Kay Lovingood

Kay Lovingood

I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro. Although I'm digital, I don't use...
