Artist's Description

Brown blossoms? One normally sees in flowers bright, happy colors -- reds, yellows, purples. Here, though, are brown flowers. They appear to be a form of hydrangea; but I don't know for sure. The blossoms have seen better days. They're tan, the color of a paper bag, with darker brown stems within each cluster. The stems shown in the photo are reaching diagonally toward the top right, trying to get past a vine that cuts off that corner of the frame. The background is muted, mostly shades of brown, with a bit of green, making an almost monochromatic scene.

This photo was taken on the grounds of the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.

Although I'm digital, I don't use...
