Thanks, Kami. The sun was just right when I took this pic.

Artist's Description

The scene begins in waters of a tidal creek on James Island in Charleston, SC. In the foreground, the perfect smoothness of the dark water creates a mirror-like surface, reflecting the wide expanse of marsh grass that grows there. The grass is golden yellow, aided by the touch of the sun's pale winter rays. The trees in the distance form a horizon of thick forest -- palms, pines, and oaks twined together. The sky above them is lightly overcast, with varying shades of gray. The distinctly horizontal strata of the photo -- water, grass, trees, and sky -- call to mind a flag, waving in the Charleston breeze.
