Showing its age, the antique typewriter still stands firm, heavy, and strong. The black paint has chipped off in places, replaced by brown rust. Parallel rows of pale yellow disks rise to meet the type bars, which curve into a toothy smile. At the very top, a decal on the paper support shows the name and model -- Remington 11. The Remington 11 model was made without sides or back; all of its metal parts are open for viewing. The spool of green ribbon, the margin release, the paper roller, and all of the knobs, gears, and levers form geometric shapes as they work together.

I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro.
