Description
Spring run-off rushes downstream. A river flows over and around submerged rocks, rising and falling, causing ripples and eddies as it moves along. In the foreground, an underwater rock breaks the movement, causing a back-up, trying to reverse the course of the running water. All around it, parallel streaks of shadows and highlights allow for just a hint of reflected color, mostly light and dark, with a little green from an overhead tree, and a little orange from an underwater rock. The one bright splash of color -- yellow -- comes from a waterlogged leaf resting on the bottom.
