Description
Looking up from the bottom of Toccoa Falls (GA), one sees a stream of water gushing from nowhere. The stream of water is long and thin, falling vertically to the river below it. But in this photo, they begin their descent by tumbling over the surface of a cliff. The bouncing droplets splash the rocky face of the precipice, making it glisten with moisture. The layers of rock that fill the width of the frame are bisected by the ribbon of bright white water, leaving little room in the image for anything else. At the top, a bit of blue sky shows through trees which adorn the edges.
This image is divided by blocks of stark color -- brilliant blue sky, dark green trees, rich brown cliff, and shining white water. The water takes center stage, not only in its placement, but in its purpose.
