Description
Along a pathway edged with fallen logs, two tiny toadstools stand side by side, in reflection of each other. The ground around them is trampled, the grass and its roots mashed into the dirt; but the pair of capped fungi stand tall -- as tall as they can at only three inches. They stand together, with caps touching and stems parallel, against a log that appears to be charred along its length. The white of the stems and the golden tan of the caps make up the majority of the color in this photo, with a brown background made of the ground and the log. A few sprigs of grass add a splash of green. The caps' muted stripes add to the height of the stems in an otherwise horizontal scene.
Phinizy Swamp is in Augusta, GA. It is a nature preserve and bird sanctuary.
