Description
Like a sturdy string, a vine climbs a fence, its tendrils wrapping around the crisscrossed wire. The vine enters at an angle, from the bottom left of the image, and straightens to vertical as it continues upward. The leaves, grouped in threes, reach toward the viewer, even as the cluster of small white flower buds reach to the sky. With foliage at top and bottom, the buds are at the center of the photo, framed perfectly by one square of the fence's grid.
Three colors dominate the picture -- green, purple, and white. The green leaf clusters at top, mid-point, and bottom are foremost, due in part to their size. The dark brown rust of the old wire fence picks up the colors of the vine, also mimicking the thinness of its shape. But central to the entire image are the small white buds of this flowering vine, supported by greenery and framed by wire.
The color scheme continues into the background. Though muted by shadow and blurred by distance, the three colors remain, adding unity to the palette.
